About The Class
This class is more geared toward those who have some experience with T’ai Chi and many of the classes will be focused on reviewing and refining movements and concepts rather than learning the moves from scratch. That being said, beginner students do filter in to the class from time to time and many have been successful in learning the movements of the form.
This class will also include Qigong as part of the practice. While Qigong can be used as a stand-alone practice, it also is essential to deepening the practice of T’ai Chi – especially if you are interested in the energetic side of T’ai Chi.
This class is currently a medium sized class with students of various experience levels. This class has a lot of energy in it and the current students have always been very welcoming to new students joining in.

About The Class
There are numerous studies that have shown that practicing T’ai helps to improve one’s balance, reduce the number of falls a person has, as well as reducing the severity of injuries from falls. The T’ai Chi for Better Balance class contains movements that have been modified from traditional T’ai Chi to specifically help improve balance. Many of the movements in this program are simplified versions of the movements in the traditional T’ai Chi class. While the moves are simplified, we place an emphasis on balance oriented aspects of T’ai Chi such as weight shifting, posture, relaxation and conscious movement.
While not required, it is helpful to practice these moves between classes. Participants who practice more frequently tend to experience greater benefits of improved balance, reduced stress and greater enjoyment of the moves themselves.
These classes consist of a nice comfortable sized group with a mix of new drop-ins and more experienced participants. The classes are lighthearted, fun and vibrant.
